Why this exists.
Every CMMS we considered before we built Comiine was designed for a European factory floor or an American refinery. They assumed always-on connectivity, single-currency operations, and audit regimes our regulators do not use. They priced in dollars, charged per seat, and delivered consultants from Frankfurt who had never been underground. We needed something else. So we built it.
Why now.
African industrial output is the fastest-growing maintenance market in the world and the most chronically under-served. Mines, plants, hospitals, and fleets that move continental GDP run on tools that assume they are operating somewhere else. Comiine starts from the constraints — variable power, mobile-first technicians, multi-currency reality, intermittent connectivity, harsh-environment assets — and treats them as first-class design inputs. Not edge cases.
How we build.
Real product, not slideware. Every feature ships against a real operation, validated in pilot, before it ships to the next. Offline-first because connectivity is not optional. Multi-currency because the supply chain is not single-currency. Database-layer security because app-layer access controls cannot survive a determined contractor. Open API because lock-in is a tax on operators we will not impose. Honest pricing because hiding numbers is the tell of a vendor that does not believe in its product.
What we will not do.
We will not bury pricing. We will not run a chatbot. We will not push notifications about features. We will not sell your data. We will not pretend our AI is more than it is. We will not hire consultants who have never operated a plant. We will not abandon a pilot to chase a bigger one. We will ship one excellent thing at a time, in public, and let the work speak.
